VP of Public Relations | Jennifer Sharp

Jennifer LaRose Sharp is a 6-year communications professional from Memphis, TN who always strides to next things to the next level and positively impact the city. As a graduate of George Washington Carver High School and Christian Brothers University, Jennifer describes herself as a “true Memphian” because of her love for the city that she was born and raised in and her support of the city’s organizations, initiatives, and people. 

With her passion for nonprofit work, Jennifer is the Marketing Assistant for Southern College of Optometry and works with nonprofit organizations and small business through her company Sharp Lifestyle Communications. As a PR and marketing professional, she masters the skills of media tracking, media pitching, writing, and social media marketing, which is her favorite thing to do as a millennial. 

Jennifer’s work in the communications profession has earned her several awards including the 2015, 2016, and 2017 VOX awards from the Memphis chapter of Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). In 2017, she was named the 2017 recipient of the Rising Star award by PRSA. She was also one of the 2018 Legends Award Writers for the Women’s Foundation of Greater Memphis’ Legends Awards, where they honor women who have made a significant impact in the Memphis community.

 

Despite her busy schedule, Jennifer continues to be active in her community. She is an active member in Greater Memphis Chamber’s SoundCheck and a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated where she participates in various service projects. Jennifer also donates both her time and her talents as the Vice-President of Public Relations for Memphis Association of Black Journalists, Public Relations Chair for the Memphis Urban League Young Professionals, and Secretary for the Public Relations Society of America - Memphis Chapter.
